  1. The state of AZ can still inquire into a person's immigration status. It is a in the federal immigration laws already. The areas that they struck had nothing to do with restricting them from doing this. It is federal immigration law that gives states the right to do this. If they dont want states coming up with their own laws, then the federal immigration laws will have to be enforced by the states and no state can have a law that ursurps federal immigration law.
